New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio sent a welcome letter to Mondomusica New York saying that "New York City is proud to host this assembly of some of the world's finest violin and string instrument makers, musicians and merchants."

Mondomusica New York, the finest American exhibition for violin and string-instrument making, is dedicated to sharing values related to the centuries-old tradition of violin-making, the latest issues and trends that are happening in the music community, and most importantly music education. 

Focus on exhibitors: Dipper Restorations

Among the American exhibitors of Mondomusica New York 2014 (exhibitors from 14 U.S. States already signed up), we find Dipper Restoration, from Minnesota.
Andrew Dipper is a skilled restorer, historian, writer and sculptor. After studying sculpture and violinmaking in London and Cremona, he founded Andrew Dipper Restorations in London, England in 1975. He relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1990 where he joined Claire Givens Violins, Inc. as Vice President. At Mondomusica New York he will give a lecture about the life and times of Antonio Stradivari; we asked him some anticipation.
 
 

Focus on exhibitors: Larsen Strings

Mondomusica New York 2014 will host more than 100 exhibitors from 12 countries: a real international show that will features some among the best worldwide violin and accessories makers. Among the European exhibitors we will find Larsen Strings, from Denmark, which develop, produces and globally distributes strings of the finest musical quality for bowed instruments.
At Mondomusica New York, Larsen Strings will also organize the seminar "Musical strings: their design and impact on sound" featuring Thomas Zwieg and Laurits Th. Larsen.
We asked Laurits some questions about their participation at Mondomuisca New York.
 

Mondomusica New York Seminar—Health and Wellness for Musicians: An Interview with Dr. John Chong on an Introduction of Performing Arts Medicine and the Importance of Music Health Awareness

Mondomusica New York is excited to welcome Dr. John Chong, President of Performing Arts Medicine Association (P.A.M.A.) and the Medical Director of the Musicians’ Clinics of Canada, as a guest seminar speaker under the category of Health and Wellness for Musicians. Dr. Chong began his career as a pianist, but his music career was interrupted, when at the age of 14 he injured his right hand from over practicing the piano. His interests shifted to study in the fields of medicine, clinical epidemiology and biostatistics, occupational health, public health and preventive medicine, acupuncture, and psychotherapy.
