Mondomusica announced the seminars and events to be held at Mondomusica New York in April 2014. Peter Seman provided a brief overview of what these will include, such as: the creation of sound, traveling with one’s instrument, health and wellness for musicians, and much more.
Mondomusica New York is a large string-instrument Trade Show that hosts violin and string-instrument makers from around the world in a unique setting that allows attendees to not only purchase instruments and accessories, but also attend concerts, lectures, seminars and cultural events. Mondomusica New York is specifically conceived for the U.S. audience and market, mirroring the world’s prominent Mondomusica event, which takes place in Cremona Italy (the birthplace of violin making tradition) each year in September. The second edition of Mondomusica New York is scheduled for April 10-12, 2014 at 82Mercer in SoHo, New York.
Massimo Bianchedi, the General Manager of CremonaFiere S.P.A, stated, “The exhibition will include the most highly qualified and best makers of string instruments in the world… Our task is bringing together the right people, creating new opportunities and creating connections.”
Last year, for the first time, Mondomusica New York made its debut in New York, bringing together 164 exhibitors from 14 different countries. It was the first exhibition of its kind to bring such a large number of highly qualified international master violin-makers to the U.S., over 2,500 violin-making professionals.
Antonio Piva, President of CRF USA and CremonaFiere S.P.A, explained that Mondomusica’s exceptional and consistent success has led this event to be recognized worldwide as a unique and prestigious setting. “America is, in fact, not only the largest world market in the violin making sector, but also home of many important theaters, orchestras, music schools and organizations; a country with a rich history of violin making that today contains many of the finest violin makers in the world.”
The New York exhibit attracts highly qualified professionals from all areas of the music industry including musicians, instrument makers, distributors, dealers and buyers, music teachers and students, and collectors and investors. New York’s accessibility combined with an excellent selection of exhibitors, matched with an exciting events program make Mondomusica New York an important industry event. Mondomusica New York is currently cultivating new exhibitors for the April 10-12 2014 show. Mondomusica New York offers discounted rates at the Hotel Hugo, The Hotel Indigo and The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Metropolitan in New York City for any exhibitors who are out of state.
In addition to the event hosted in Chicago, Mondomusica New York will host a cocktail party and musical performance on Thursday, February 6th, 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles (1023 Hilgard Avenue). The presentations will offer an opportunity to learn more about the Mondomusica New York event. Additionally, Georg Eittinger, owner of the legendary violin shop Hans Weisshaar Inc., will be Mondomusica’s guest.
Mondomusica New York will be held at 82Mercer in Manhattan from April 10-12, 2014.
